The story
Hungry Hollow Cattle Company raises Black Angus in Yolo County, sustainably finished on a carefully managed local ration that builds the marbling many families prefer. A share fills your freezer with a balanced mix of steaks, roasts and ground beef.

Good to know
- Delivery & pickup
- Frozen boxes ship with 2-day service every Wednesday, or collect at Fillco HQ in Capay Tuesday–Friday. Shipping is billed per box as each box ships; we confirm the cost with you before it goes out.
- Freezer space
- A sixteenth is one 30 lb box (about a cubic foot of freezer space) and an eighth is two, about 13 weeks apart or together. A quarter share is about 120 lb — plan on roughly 4 cubic feet across the year, arriving one box at a time or all at once. A half share is double.
- Storage & shelf life
- Every cut is vacuum-sealed and flash-frozen; best within 12 months. Ground beef comes in 1 lb packs.
Questions people ask
- Can I change a shipment date after I order?
- Yes — any box, any time before it ships. Move it from your account to whatever date suits you.
- What if I’m not home?
- Keep an eye on the estimated delivery time in your tracking email and plan to be home for it. Boxes typically stay cold for 48 hours from shipment.
- When is the balance charged on split pay?
- Half today, half automatically before your first shipment or pickup — 7 days before for an eighth or sixteenth, 10 days before for a quarter share, 8 weeks before for a half. We email you ahead of the charge.
- What’s the difference between the two cut options?
- On a quarter, ground and roasts are nearly identical; Tri-Tip trades the flap and skirt steaks for a tri-tip roast. The full cut sheet is under the cut step. A sixteenth comes as Cuts & Ground or All Ground, and an eighth is one standard mix of ground and steaks.
